Roxanna,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Retirement!
Yup! The pay (?[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]) is lousy - but the "retired" part is excellent! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Oh !
And, " No." [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I wasn't referring to the chickens; I meant the veggies, etc. ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(Until just now - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I never even thought ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] about them as food! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.])

you so right Jaaj, the retirement pay is lousy, no money smiley but i am eternally thankful to live in a country that at least HAS a pension happy dance
I learnt a lot about being frugal from the elderly people i worked with ,and some of their sayings come to mind
'waste not want not'
'look after the pennies, the pounds will take care of themselves'
cut your cloth according to it's width.
i used to be amused at some of their budgeting methods, but it all makes sense now .
laughing ass off I'm pleased to hear the ladies are safe ! they do provide beautiful nutritious eggs,2 each and every day,so i guess they are food providers. happy dance and the vegies are delish !!

Hiya, Rox !
"[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I'm pleased to hear the ladies are safe !"

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] !
Certainly ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I would never harm a hair ! -*er*- feather ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
on their pretty heads! Two each is VERY! generous of them. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Yup ! It is nice ! Here, 'disability' -
(social security of any kind, for
that matter) - is based on
the amount (which based on each one's salary) paid in to it -
so it "varies". AND... (I recently learned, to my disgust) it has
to be "current" or it doesn't 'count' - in so far as 'disability
goes, anyway. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(So... what? - the $$ he paid in to it for years was just a "gift"? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.])
Hah. I think "not."
BUT, "they" (government) do have an "inadequate income"
(that is not what they call it - but that's what they mean and what it is)
payment for those who are disabled (hell if I know! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]) -
SO... it worked out for Greg. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And (I was pleasantly surprised !) - it was approved with a
minimum of fuss and no need to appeal; nada. YAY.
(If you don't 'count' the temporary and near- heart attack,
when the letter denying his disability arrived first. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.])
I count ! it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Geez.
Anyhoo, while I was not ! at all pleased to find myself disabled -
it has turned out to be -kind of- a good deal!
(I'm lazy as all-hell ) So not working hasn't been the big pain
I thought it would be.

I am 'familiar ' with all ! of those adages - mostly from my Grandmother.
Sadly ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I fall into the "penny-wise and pound-foolish" category. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

AND... Your farm looks wonderful ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Those cats do look familiar, maybe because I was once sort of co-ownee of a pair of cats, one pure white and one almost pure black, with a very thin white stripe down her chest...

Although I saw the pics of the remains of plants, I said what food, because there wasn't any left to speak of.

Kind of like when I buy something I like for myself around here, and two days later I find the just about completely empty package. Harrumphh! No mom, I don't mind if you help yourself, but I would appreciate if you could have a little taste of the treat I went out of the way for, and spent too much money on...

Ya think maybe she's getting revenge for all the times she bought a dozen Popsicles for her 12 children...?

Oh. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
That makes sense; [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] they did seem to pretty-much wipe out
the plant-life. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ("The little dears... ", as the lady remarked.)

Doncha just hate that? It never seems to fail. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(Well, not "Mom" so much) - but the "principle" of it.
Yup!
You know ... ? I think "maybe" you've got something there!
Not 'revenge' - but more like, "Oh-goody - someone thought of me!",
maybe?
Although ... more than a wrapper left would be nice... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Would you like to share my lollipop? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Roxanna, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Thanks - "Jack" and "Lola" are so cute! I like their names !
(Which is whom ?) I like originality in pet names.
(WHY ! does nearly every [guy [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]] one name a big dog 'Rex' or 'King'? Rolling Eyes)
... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ...

Our Shepherd's daddy's name was "Phideau Rex"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] (semi-original and very funny!, I think) - and her
Mom's name was "Queenie" - something... Rolling Eyes - it's been
a long time since I've come across Candy's papers.
OUR puppy was named "Candance Camille Reid" *sniff*
(I spelled it 'wrong' on purpose - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] so there. )
Well.. have you even seen a puppy NOT wiggle from head to tail
oall ! the time?
If so - it wasn't our Candy! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
