What are good farm animals that help pay for themselves? Empty What are good farm animals that help pay for themselves?

I am trying to find farm animals that would pay for themselves in some way. By producing wool, milk or something other than slaughter. I have a $10k budget and 20 acres to work with.
Thanks

I suppose you could have a couple of goats for milk, but I don't know if 20 acres would support a cow.

Goats can be raised for breeding, for showing, for the milk... soap, ice cream, butter and cheese,etc... and even the hair of some types.
The milk from goats is worth more than cows milk. It serves medical purposes for skin problems.

Sheep have just as many uses. The wool... for clothing, yarn, etc.., for showing and milk and it's uses.
From what I have found, the wool is not as big a demand as it use to be and may not sell as well as it once did.

One use I had forgotten... sheep and goats are great lawn mowers. lol

I will give some thought to other animals that may be useful on smaller farms.
