If YOU were forming a religion, how would it be?

What would you base it on? How would you teach your religion and spread the word?

Just curious to how everyone would DO that, if they could.

Like Martin Luther, do you mean?
Or "from scratch"?
I would not do that.
The people who found that sort of thing know lot
more about their God than I do, I think.
It seems presumtuous for me to be thinking I might
have a better idea.

I have been thinking about this and came to the conclusion that people making religions the way they wanted might be why we have so many problems already. Maybe I'd be better off asking what standards we should ALL live by, no matter what the religion.. standards in this case being how we should all treat others and be...
Is this making any sense?

One idea that seems to be a basic one ...
"Treat others the way you want to be treated."
Keep an open mind and look at the "big picture" ... that is,
none of us is going to get out of this world alive ... so we should make the most of it while we are here and do what we can to contibute to the lives of others.

(Is that the kind of thing you are referring to above?)

Contribute to lives of others... that's a great way to put it! Even if not material things, we all can contribute with kindness and other ways that will make a persons life more tolerable than it possibly is right now. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Kind of like we do here on Yafooey. We share thoughts, laughs and a lot more, but we never lose sight of treating each other decently.

I think that (maybe) the key is "no matter what the religion"
because it REALLY! DOESN'T MATTER what / which religion.
People are people (most of us, anyway [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]) - and it is senseless
to second-guess or presume to know why one is better than
another.

Standards are also tricky - if you make them up and expect
others to live by and with them.
Basics seem to work best - (as Jack said [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]), treat one another
as we hope others will treat us and the resat seems to fall right
