Starting a thread to give you a
"Totally Useless Fact Of The Day"
(might come in handy playing Trivial Pursuit!) LOL
Here is today's useless fact:

In the blockbuster hit, E.T., the Extra Terrestrial (1982), Harrison
Ford was cast as the school principal, but his only scene was cut.
Director Steven Spielberg decided his presence in the film would be
too distracting. Ford's wife Melissa Mathison wrote E.T.'s screenplay.

Okay, here's one: The song title, Mr. Mojo Risin", by the Doors, is an anagram of Jim Morrison's name.

See! ... You guys know some useless facts! LOL
Great additions! I did not know all of that!
Hey, who has that picture of the kitten being held up at gun point?
I lost it. Could have used it here:
The robbery phrase "Hands Up" originated in British Columbia. Bill
Miner, an American known as the Gentleman Bandit, is said to have
first used the phrase while robbing a Canadian Pacific Railways
train in Mission Junction, British Columbia in 1904.
Edit:
And thanks to Breezey's quick fingers ... here's a hold up:

Tip: Never iron a four-leaf clover, because you don't want to press your luck!

May love and laughter light your days,
... and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
... wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world,
... with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons

A parsec is an astronomical unit of measurement that is equivalent to 3.26
light years distance, or the distance photons will travel in vacuum over
the period of 3.26 years. Light travels at an approximate speed of
186,000 miles per second (300,000 kilometers per second), so a parsec represents
a distance of just over 19 trillion miles (~31 trillion kilometers).

potatoes were practically worth their weight in gold.
Potatoes were so valued for their vitamin C content that miners traded gold for potatoes.

4564 posts 0 permalink Interesting facts about "Mona" ...
Leonardo DaVinci began painting the Mona Lisa in 1503.
He was still working on the painting when he emigrated to France in 1516
and is believed to have finished it three years later, just before he died.
The painting has remained in France ever since and is owned by the state.
It once hung in Napoleon's bedroom.

The Mona Lisa, by daVinci, is 2’6" by 1’9"

X-ray technology has shown there are 3 different versions of the Mona Lisa
under the visible one.
