Should America get involved in Syrian conflict?
As many know the conflict in Syria has been going on for over a year. According to reports over 19 thousand has died. Last week a report has came out that President Obama has secretly authorized support rebels in this Civil War. I for one don't understand why is he trying to involve America in a conflict that's none of our business in my opinion. I feel for the Syrian people. But I feel this is an issue that Europe & the Middle East should be handling not America. We are still recovering financially. We just brought back the Troops from Iraq. We are slowly pulling out of Afghanistan. Why get involved in another conflict? The American people are tired of war. We been in war since 2001. it's time for it to end. Your thoughts? agree or disagree & why?

Should America get involved in Syrian conflict? :: Comments
I think we should, but we should do it mostly through diplomacy and the UN. I also think we should twist a few arms in Russia and China. We have nothing to fear from either of them, but we act as if we do. I don't get it.
Interesting reading! ....
Opinion today: US role in Syria based on imperialist interest

Derek Ford, of Syracuse, writes about Syria in the Readers' Page of today's Post-Standard. Here is his letter:
The people of the world are thankful to Russia and China for their steadfastness in opposing U.N. intervention in Syria. Meanwhile, the United States and its allies are increasing their arms shipments to opposition forces.
The Free Syrian Army has been waging a war of terror on Syrians, in particular on Christians and Shi'a Muslims. It has been confirmed that al-Qaida is part of the FSA, and many fighters in that army are not from Syria at all. They are engaging in abductions, rape and suicide bombings - all tactics that signal their extreme isolation.
By contrast, the Syrian government has for over a year been offering reform after reform. This includes an entirely new constitution that passed with 89 percent of the vote (despite FSA snipers stationed on rooftops preventing people from voting). When was the last time in the United States that we got to vote on a constitution?
Russia and China know that the desire by some nations to interfere in Syria, just like in Libya, has nothing to do with ''human rights.'' Indeed, what a strange proposition that the United States, Israel, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have any concern whatsoever for human rights! Instead, it is about imperialist interests in the region, and any government standing in the way has to be overthrown. Hopefully, Russia and China will continue to stand up to the United States, and the Syrian Arab Army will be successful in defeating al-Qaida and its allies in the FSA.

The only thing I've seen about U.S. involvement in Syria is
that Obama stopped them from using biochemical weapons.
(Which - in my opinion - is a damned good thing.)
As far as it goes otherwise, as long as they're fighting with
each other they'll have less time to attack the U.S.
(If Mr. Ford is such an admirer of facist governments
why is he still here [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ? )
