What do you think of estate sales?

What if it were YOUR estate sale and all the things you collected, loved, cherished, etc..
were being sold while you are either in a home or dead?

I went to an estate sale and the people were talking about how it was their parent's belongings... it was really sad and bothered me. Sad

if the family don't treasure the stuff, or can't afford to keep it selling is the only way ,even giving to charities it will end up sold .sad but true .
If my kids don't want my special stuff ,i'd rather somebody bought because they want it, than lying around in a drawer or basement neglected.

Roxanna, that's true... maybe it's just the fact that mom and dad were stuck somewhere else and all their belongings being sold off in the home they had for so many years. I kind of felt like it was wrong to be there.. in their home, going through each room and digging through all their stuff. Sad

I know how you feel Breezey, it feels intrusive ,some of the garage sales i have been to where the owner went to a nursing home and the children sold the stuff ,i felt like i was invading their privacy, how ever,if the person was able to be there ,or at least the spouse, it was ok. either way, what else to do ?

I got rid of all personal letters,poems, ,mementos, Shocked

any thing i didn't want the kids to find !! etc.....just in case...

Yeah... I think I'll get rid of a lot of stuff before it's too late. Seriously.. it kind of put things in perspective...
What are you gonna do with YOUR computer? I think I'll tear mine apart and bury it! lmao!!
