Why do people find it easier to tell us what we SHOULD have done?

We all come up with problems in life that we sometimes want advice on how to handle. Why is that some people feel a need to start in about what we could have done to avoid the problem, instead of actually helping with the problem on hand?

Honestly i have given advice that maybe on 2nd thought i should have shut up .lol
I think sometimes its so easy to say :
well i woulda done that
OR i coulda , than say " i am hear to listen , if you want to vent "
I tend to do THAT now .
