It keeps a running total. If somebody clicks on the - sign on one of your posts, it subtracts one, and if they click on the plus sign, it adds one. So if you have no reputation, you either haven't received any votes, or an equal number of positive and negative votes.

Okay.... the reputation thing is like thumbs up and down. There is also a thank you feature that can be enabled... kind of like picking a best answer.
I don't really think that feature is needed here. I always hated having to choose one answer and say it was best. All decent answers are good and worthy of the same amount of appreciation.
I pretty much think I will be disabling the reputation feature.

It jumped to two because I clicked the plus sign. If I hit the minus sign, you lose it too.

Yes Tater said it was a voting thing. We don't really need that option here. This site is so much different than any of the others because it's NUMBER 1.
