I was wondering about that. ???
Thought I might have missed something!

I remembered because this is when I had moved to Hawaii in 2001. Boy April fools on me. To make matters worse, when I got here, they said my condo was still in escrow and had not closed yet, when earlier when I was in Ca. they said it will close April 1st. I went off at the title co. and said look, you told me the first I have a whole container of stuff coming out here, that condo better be closed, then the lady goes, oh its closed, its closed. I had rented a condo for a couple of weeks next to my friend and we were going to fix my condo but my buddy was too busy so I ended up moving into a very nasty condo. I knew it was bad, but it was even worse than I thought. Anyway, I ended up gutting the whole thing and remodeled it, tiled it, put a bamboo floor in it, and a new kitchem, bathroom and it turned out awesome. My first night there at 3 am in the morning the dirt bag neighbor next door was in front of my condo talking to his friends, I told them to shut up, then got a hold of the manager, and that ended that. Soon, they were moving out, hooray.Yeah, welcome to Maui.
Geesh Ron! That wasn't an "April Fools" ... sounds more like something that was left over from a Halloween nightmare! LOL

Was this ... your neighbor? ((( LOL )))

He was for a short time then they kicked him out of there. He had tatoo's on his tatoo's. He looked like he just got out of prison. I knew the manager and he took care of business for me. Yes my friend, it was a nightmare. This is what happens when you become widowed, you try and think you will be happy somewhere else but it doesn't work. I should have just stayed a widow in my house in the woods, and so be it. I waited 1 and a half years before moving, I should have waited 50 years then I would have been too old to move, lol.
Well look at it this way Ron, if you hadn't moved to Hawaii, you wouldn't have met your present wife. So something good came of it, right?
Yes, you're right Tater. If I had stayed I would have been a miserable ,grumpy old man, plus, I would have had everything to do, cook, clean, work, work and work some more.
Plus, the water's not 80 degrees on the California coast.
Its about 59 and non swimmable because of the rip tides, current white sharks and all that kelp. Thanks for reminding me Tater, sometimes I need a wake up call. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And the tar balls from the offshore drilling on a lot of the beaches don't help any either. When I visited my sister in Santa Barbara, I thought that was a heck of a way to ruin a beautiful beach!
Oh man Santa Barbara is beautiful but loaded with tar balls, oh man. I am so glad we don't have tankers going by just an occassional cruise ship. The tankers go to Oahu. Thats very cool your sis lives in Santa Barbara, right on.
Well she doesn't live there now; she just stayed there while her husband was getting his masters at UCSB.
Does she still live in Ca. or back to Phillie. The CA. coast is beautiful from south to north but its dangerous. I drove on Hwy 1 all the way up the coast from Below Monte Ray, up to Santa Cruz, then hit 101 north. I have driven from Santa Cruz to Mendocino, thats awesome.
They moved back to PA; they live upstate. Hard to believe her oldest daughter will be going to college this year. I visited them out there in 89, when they had only been married a short time, no kids till several years later.
I was there in 89 only in wine country selling firewood. It's a great place. You know, I like PA., I have been there a few times and it was so country and nice and green . I loved all those hex signs on the barns. A lot of history there.
your stories of america make me want to go there , much more than any glossy brochure ever could .it always did fascinate me, but hearing about it from people who live there makes it more real.
Yes, I remembered... Did you notice I wasn't here yesterday? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I don't like April Fool's stuff.

Rox! That's so nice of you to say! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Roxy, the U.S. is very beautiful, very diverse, and I know you would love it here. Whatever you want to see, its here from dessert to mountains ,to lush farmland, to wooded area's, to the redwoods and to the tropics. One of the coolest things I have ever done was drive across our country, 3,400 miles. When you are not thinking about politics and just look at God's creation, its amazing. I totally think Australlia is too but New Zealand sounds awesome. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I don't think anybody did anything on Yafooey that was April fools related?
And the day went quite well! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
