Re: Every once in a while, do you read something and just have to say WTF?
Levier says the Brookville man was "extremely intoxicated" and "did have
his mouth in the area of the animal's mouth, I guess."
He guesses? Quite a professional statement there! lol
That's not the type of news I'd expect to read! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I think it must be hard to maintain an air of professionalism when you come across a man attempting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a dead possum.
Why do they even bother to print stuff like that. What a waste of ink and paper.
Well, it was online Ron, so they didn't really use much ink.
Tater,
At least it's funny !
(as opposed to appalling, depressing, horrifying, etc.)
Thanks ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
In answer to your original question...
In my case, it seems to be a lot more frequently than
"every once in a while"... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Ja'aj, I thought it was hilarious, even though it was a little sad at the same time, both for the possum and the man. At least he was so drunk that he probably won't remember it.
Tater,
Yup... hopefully....
and the possum is well out of it.

Ja'aj, the possum was dead. Not dead as in playing possum, mind you, but dead as in roadkill.
Where I used to live we had them critters on the road every day. The buzzards loved them. Thats probably where Jack got that possum in a can, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I can't believe some drunk was going to give it mouth to mouth, why if that sucker was not dead, it would have bit his face off.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I suppose people have done stranger things while extremely intoxicated, but that's gotta be right up there fairly close to the top of the list.
Ron, do you ever read the "odd news" headlines online? Crazy stuff!
Ron, do you ever read the "odd news" headlines online? Crazy stuff!
We get that in one of our free local papers. News of the weird??? Oh man, Tater I just can't believe some of the things that goes on, but you're right the possum story is right up there with old Joe and the deer, that bit him, remember that one?
Oh Dear! Yes, I remember Joe, he was in the mf'n phone booth.
You got it my friend. I have it in cassette form and I loaned it to our Fire Chief back in Ca. he was a friend of mine and he plays this tape for all the Sheriff's ,Ca. highway Patrol, at the firehouse and those guys were just rolling. I don't
think there was a dry eye in the house that day. I want to burn it into a cd my cassette player broke. but ol Joe. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I think they stopped making cassette players when CD's came out, but maybe you could copy it from an MP3 file and burn it.

Tater,
I know ... which -to me- means "well out of it" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Yes, now that you mention it, I suppose the possum was well out of it...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I prefer to think that there is a much better place
waiting when we leave this one - possums included.
I hadn't considered it - but Ron is right!
Possums aren't all-that friendly to people...

Possums aren't usually that bad...unless you try to give them mouth-to-mouth...
i didn't realise giving dead possums mouth to mouth was illegal !!

It's probably not, but public drunkenness is...and who knows, they might have charged him with abusing a corpse...
from time to time we do hear of weerd things happening around the world, how about we have a WTF thread ??
I'm sure that would be fine. We could even use this thread for that if you'd like.
Roxy great idea, a wtf thread. This should be good.
Sounds good.Well, here's one but its gross. When the FBI concluded that the late 2001 anthrax scare was the work of government scientist Bruce Ivins who comitted suicide 2008, the bureau released the investigative files regarding personal activities that according to Ivins own description he was a crossdresser and had a fetish on blindfolding and bondage and had 15 pairs of stained panties he was also obsessed with a sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma and told agents how he broke into 2 chapters to steal books on KKG Rituals. He was a government scientist?????? Holy smokes. That was in one of our local free papers.
And he worked with anthrax? Brilliant.
Sure is. You'd think he would have washed the panties.
It was probably against the rules in the rule books he stole,lol.OMG.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Palin and her new reality show, man I was joking one day and said watch her next step is a reality show and sure enough she heard me and she just dropped LL Cool J because he was complaining. I love it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Maybe she will replace him with her buddy McCain. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] She should bring in Cheney too and show the world what a good shot he is, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] He can hunt Moose up there in Alaska, shoot wolves and all the other animals she wants to destroy.
So they are using old interviews by other people and passing it off as news, without their knowledge. How bogus is that? That qualifies for WTF, for sure!
That article caught my eye and I could not believe what they are doing.
Figures it would be on Fox News. All the news that's not fit to print.
Well today I just read how this guy gets his bank balance and its for almost 89 billion dollars. He knew the bank had made a mistake, now thats one heck of a mistake, then he asks the bank if he can transfer that money into a interest account and donate the rest to charity and gee, the bank said no, wonder why?? On interest he would have made over 7 million.
Yeah I saw that; it probably would have been messier all the way around if the bank had let him transfer it.
I mean, sooner or later they will find out where the money went, and it would have ben a big problem if the guy wasn't honest. Imagine though, you wake up one day and make a deposit and your balance is that much, I would have dropped then I would have went to the bank and said whoa, where did this come from, I think you made a serious mistake here. 89 billion WOW.
Can I have that in twenties please?, Yes, 4.49 billion of them, thank you.
Yes sir, no problem, do you have something to carry it in?
I would think you'd need a moving van for that.
i would seriously consider a quick spending spree !!
Lesson of the Day: Don't Steal Candy From Cops
Middletown (Kentucky) Police DepartmentLet's just say he's no Billy the Kidd. Police in Kentucky say they caught 32-year-old Derek Kidd with his hands in the cookie jar... pretty much literally. Just an hour after being released from jail, Kidd found himself right back in -- because police say on his way out he tried to steal two candy bars and a police hat.

Not a good idea to steal something in a police station! Duh!
... or maybeeeeee ... THIS! ...
