SYDNEY: Scientists have discovered 850 new species by surveying murky underground waters, caves and 'micro-caverns' in central and southern Australia.
"Our research has revealed whole communities of invertebrate animals that were previously unknown," said evolutionary biologist Andy Austin of the University of Adelaide, in South Australia. "What we have discovered is a completely new component to Australia's biodiversity."
Austin, co-leader of the research team, presented the findings at a conference on evolution and biodiversity in Darwin at the end of last month. The invertebrates, mostly blind and lacking pigment, are thought to represent only one fifth of the number of species waiting to be discovered underground in the Australian outback.

hello all you computer whizz kids, the picture did not print with the text, so i put it in my pictures . do pics and text always print separately?
I think it depends on the site you are on, or there is a glitch on this one because its also happened to me too. Roxy, that is amazing all those discoveries. Australlia is so big I can believe they would uncover so much there. Unfortunately for our country, instead of doing intelligent things, we fight in wars, thats all we know. I hope one day that all changes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
this came from Cosmos news letter, haven't tried any other as yet.Tater Salad wrote:I think it depends on the website you are copying from, Roxy.
What I see Roxy is that I will post a picture, after a few days, it dissappears, and you're left with a box with an x inside, so I right click the x, left click on show picture, and nothing, no pic. I think we have a picture thief.
