What About the Rest?

Did you hear the news? It's so sad. So many people were affected.
"But that's nothing compared to the millions of babies who never have a chance."
What about the ones who are born to be abused, and used, unwanted and neglected, beat up and dejected, maybe never to even meet their soul mate, or maybe not even have a chance to graduate, who grow up in a world of despair, where drugs and sex and violence are better acquaintances than parents, for some who never know love, is that not worse than not to be born at all? To live in a world where it's dog eat dog, and every man for himself, and the "lucky" ones survive to adulthood, only to start the cycle over again?

Tater... that is such a hard one... to not be born at all means no chance at all of rising above...
some of those abused, neglected and mistreated have turned out to be wonderful people that make a difference in at least one person's life.

Not sure what news you're talking about.. most of it is not good...
If you see a mistreated, uncared for, neglected, hungry.. etc.. child... make a difference. Do something to change it. If the child lacks love, give some.. we have a never ending supply to share.. if we care to.
The cycle doesn't always continue.. many change what was wrong and make their adult lives better and meaningful. It's still a choice to make at a certain time in life.

This was just written as prose; so the "news" wasn't meant to be anything specific. I just typed what I felt, and cannot explain what it means, because I am not totally sure myself. Hope that makes sense.

What if that child isn't accessible to give to?

I was thinking in broader terms than just you.. everyone who sees someone in need.. a child needing love, a person needing food.. if each person who was close enough gave what was needed, this world would be so much better. 05:47:42   12.06.2013
