It's not easy at all. That's why, outside of my ex-wife, I have never shut anybody out of my life. And even though she was a real pain in the ass, I still didn't want to shut HER out, but after trying to deal with her crap for several years, I felt I had no choice if I wanted to stay sane.

Why do you suppose some can shut others out, especially when it seems to be a habit?

I think by the time you need to shut some one out, you don't love them any way.I have only completely shut out 3 people in my life,2 were former girl friends who were unbelieveably destructive,the other a former boy friend ,ditto +++ ,many years later I still got the odd phone call ,either the threat to get a restraining order worked (so far) or he's dead .I don't care either way.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

yes,it's sad , but I guess that's life, and nobody has a perfect one ! well...at least for any length of time..
I have learnt the ability to ''let go and move on'' when the time is right ,one of the best things to learn ever.

Problem is... how does one always know when it's time to move on? There is always that "what if" part.
