Re: What are your Artistic and creative talents?
I have different talents and only take them seriously for me, family and friends. Anything I do, I don't do for show or money. just because I really like to do certain things.
I can sing, I can write poetry, I can bake so many great foods and can do many other crafts and such... just not for profit or fame. lol

I have let artistic talents go by the wayside, only one thing I
I'm interested in at the moment is water colour painting, which I have nevér before been attracted to, using a very special paper that I can't get a hold of ,my SIL is the only person who might be able to help me,and she WON'T...she intoduced me to it and gave some art lessons and now she won't tell me what it is . The paper has a texture that makes the paint run a little, causing all sorts of interesting effects, and I would love to get some...grrr...

The important thing is to be aware that the color of watercolor painting
does differ, and does have an impact on your painting. A watercolor
paper with a cream color can make your colors appear muddy. A
watercolor with a blueish bias can give yellows a greenish appearance.
(But if you're using a lot of graphite in a painting, a creamier paper
can be more appealing to the eye than an intense white paper which can
glare too much and be hard on the eye.)
Still looking for more information.

My girlfriend introduced me to yupo as a base for watercolors several
years ago, but this is the first time I've ordered any for myself. The
nice thing about yupo and watercolors is if you do a painting and don't
like the results, you can just wash all or part of the painting off and
start over. True, it lacks the interesting texture of a hand-made
watercolor paper, but you can get some delightful results by allowing
the paint to run and blend various colors. You can also use acrylics
with the watercolors to achieve even more interesting texture and color
combinations.
Maybe?

Had a look just now, and can't find that one painting on the special paper ,I think I must have tossed it out ,can't believe I did that

It might not be just the paper, but also the type of paint or colors you used.

I don't suppose you thought it would really matter. I have to wonder why your sister won't tell you. Does she want her butt kicked? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
