I have used a bus, when I needed to and had no car. It was awful! Way too many people and the men almost always seem to think women are there for one reason! You can't really grocery shop for a big amount either. Many times, I walked and didn't mind. smile2
We have a trolly, but it only runs for a few months in the summer.
That's about it.

Yeah, I have ... awful, isn't it? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Well... not "awful" really... I'm just spoiled
and I LIKE the privacy and coming and going
as I please. I'm awful with a "timetable"...

hi jaáj [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I know what you mean ,to me the freedom of just getting in the car and going is unmatchable [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

although the bus depot is only an 8 minute walk away, it's to long if it's hot [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]or raining .
I have been without a car for three years in the past, and odly enough ,it gets worse ,never get used to public trans port.

ps, I'm more concerned about losing my car than my health[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Hi there! smile2
Sometimes, losing your car is GOOD for your health, if you're willing to walk more. smile2 I know we can't walk everywhere, but many people could walk more places than they do.

Hi there!
Sometimes, losing your car is GOOD for your health, if you're willing to walk more. I know we can't walk everywhere, but many people could walk more places than they do.

I do walk quite often, but the way things are here a car is more essential than maybe in many other places.Things are so far apart....also....I WANT TO KEEP my CAR !!!! FOR EVER !!!

Okay, I KNOW a car is much better than public transportation. I just know we depend on our own vehicles a lot more than we should. I do appreciate my car for grocery shopping or long distances. And... I want to keep mine forever, too. lol

I am only teasing, because she made a statement but didn't state the statement. Breezey, I got the impression that men often think women are using public transportation to attract a man, for whatever reason, but that makes no sense to me; maybe I am missing something. Do any men try the pick up line, "Hey baby, do you need a ride?" I have used public transportation a lot, and I have rarely witnessed anybody trying to pick anybody up on a bus or subway or train, man or woman. Maybe things are different in a smaller town than in the big city?

Tater, we can't go to the library, ride the bus, go to a gas station or even walk on the sidewalk without some jerks making comments and trying to get phone numbers! Some say things that show they have no class at all!

Ahh. I didn't realize there were rednecks in Wisconsin.
I would never try to pick up a woman unless she bought me a drink first. Maybe that's why I'm presently single?

Wild brat! You wouldn't want the ones who DO that! Most are looking for one night stands, a place to stay and someone to take care of them. It's that easy because they mostly want a free ride and not have to take care of themselves. They are not the type who care to help themselves or would make great marriage and family material.
