The eggnog I make has no alcohol. lol It's a basic recipe, but the kids love it!
Eggs, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla extract.

There are a lot of different recipes and many DO call for alcohol... just not my choice for here. smile2

6 eggs
3 cups milk
8 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or to your preference

beat eggs well
add milk and mix
add sugar and mix well
add vanilla and nutmeg
Keep it cold!
When ready to drink it, mix it so nutmeg doesn't settle. I use a pitcher with a cover that seals and just shake it up.

It's really good! Honest! lol

Never had snow ice cream. Sad

As for store items... most can't compare to home made and many use fake ingredients and add a ton of crap.

Snow ice cream. WE took a big bowl packed hard with clean snow, added some vanilla flavoring, milk and sugar. Then ate it before it melted. One problem back then my dad burned coal in the furnace,so we had to find clean snow or brush soot off the top layer.

I always loved eggnog, but it's hard to find good nog anymore. Rolling Eyes

But seriously, home made is definitely best. The local dairy makes some pretty good stuff, but they put too much sugar in it, so I generally dilute it with milk. And yes, Roxy, you can definitely add rum, or brandy, or whisky, but if you are not carefull, you may end up with a bump or lump on your nog-gin!

a nog induced lump on my noggin would be something different Shocked !!
some how I thought only the yolks would be used, and the whites beaten up or not used at all.sounds like a rich brew ! Wink
