Proving residence or bills from a previous address

How many of you would be able to produce paperwork of any kind to an address you lived at ten years ago, that is not your current address?

I can do that as 10 years ago I sold my home n Ca. and tht is on record, plus I have the realator's ph. number and address who sold the huse plus, I think I still have that paperwork. It's recorded anyway.

To claim money I have coming to me, I need to somehow prove I lived there and give some kind of proof for dealing with the place that is holding the money... which is not listed. Are these people that dense?!
Normal, every day correspondence or bills, who would hang onto that kind of stuff from over ten years ago at an address they rented at?

It's legal and I have known about it for a couple of years. I once sent for the claim stuff before, but never actually filed the paperwork.
It needs to be notarized as well.
Seems I had it coming to me in 1998, but I had moved and left no forwarding address.
This time, I want the damn money, but still have nothing for proof... as far as I can tell.

I tried that and there was 4 Ron Finer's and I had no proof hat bank, or anything else. Yes that place is in Wisconsin but it was just a couple hundres bucks in CD'S and I checked with a few banks they said to check with and nothing. Screw that. They steal our money, simple as that. My first wife could have bought a couple of cd's but I have no record of that. Yes thats a pain.

I would think showing up in person with your birth certificate, social security card and a valid photo license would be sufficient proof. Is it something you paid for by check, and do you still have the same checking account?

Breezey, the DMV should have a record where you lived, and I think Tater is right. Its very easy to get something notarized, there are a ton of notaries everywhere and it's cheap.

It's not anything I paid for. It's money owed to me that never got delivered. I am not going to show up at the treasury department! lol
Seems it's some kind of government check.

Did you get a letter telling you that the government owes you money or was it on that website. I would call the dept. of motor vehicles and see if they keep those files. I mean the FBI can track a person from birth, surely you can prove your address. Who was your neighbors? Did you file taxes then? If yes, the IRS has a record of where you worked and lived.
