Do you start wondering if you should quit trusting new acquaintances?

Sometimes... I get the feeling that trust shouldn't be given so easy, yet... other times, it's really worth it.
Do the ones that don't work out make it hard for you to trust others?

Yup. Frequently. I agree with you; "wary" seems to me to
be a good! idea. I don't follow-through there, very much, either.
I have really good ! "instincts" (?) about people.

I just go with what feels right.

Usually ^ because I knew! better and did 'whatever' , anyway.
(I think I still feel better than I would have if I had listened to me.)
My conscience doesn't *bitch-gripe-nag-&-complain* at me if I'm wrong;
only if I do nothing.

Yes, especially in the "affair of the heart" department.

I get (got?) bitter, cynical,and have now arrived at (and STAYED)
for several years now at "No."
I was absolutely serious when I made that decision (consciously)
and it is working (it is too!) very well -for me. I do not reccommend it or advocate it for anyone else.
(A friend says it : "Everyone has to kill their own snakes")
So okay; It "helps" that one less-than-stellar decision there
is still true for me.

I have a person who is on here that i am connected to on Yahoo Q&A and we send regular emails to each other plus we have sent post cards through Postal mail. I do trust her. There are a couple more that we email regular things . It is turn about also as they must trust you too.

Hey Sneaky.
I have made some wonderful friends... first on Yahoo and they came here. It started online and is now so much more. lol Today... I was already deciding on things they would like for CHRISTMAS! lol Because of trust issues I've had before.. and it being internet... the trust took quite a while, but it is SOOO worth it! Each of them has a place in my life and heart.

Still... there are some I trust and find it wasn't such a great idea. Good thing is I still don't trust with too much that is personal until I truly get to know them now.
