Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor,
DBE (27 February 1932 – 23 March 2011),
also known as Liz Taylor, was an English-American actress. A former child star, she grew to be known for her acting talent and beauty, as well as her Hollywood lifestyle, including many marriages. Taylor was considered one of the great actresses of Hollywood's golden age. ... More at:

Thanks, Jack, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] and Amen to that.
I'm taking this very personally; I have loved Elizabeth
since I was 8 years old. The older we both got - the more
I found that there was to love and admire about her.

I loved and admired her most , I think, for her extraordinary
courage.
I learned so much from Elizabeth...
She showed me by her example how to be a good friend.
(Never - not once - did Elizabeth repeat something - anything -
she was told in confidence.)
She taught me that no one is personally responsible for their
good -(or not) - looks.
It is not an achievement - it is the lottery of the gene pool.

I will miss her.
God speed, Elizabeth.

She definitely had class ... Hollywood royalty.
So many great movies, that it is almost impossible to choose one favorite.
Since I am a big fan of all things "ancient Egypt" ... I enjoyed "Cleopatra."

I can never forget that scene where she made her entrance to Rome at the top of a giant sphinx. I once read how much it cost to stage that one scene. It was a staggering amount for the times. What a memorable scene! She was very regal ... on stage and in real life. We've seen the passing of one of the greats.

This, I think, explains very well why I have loved Elizabeth since the first
time I saw her... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
She had a marvelous perspective about who she was and almost always saw
the humor in the fuss surronding her.

Elizabeth Taylor Was Late at Her Own Funeral [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

A fabulous Hollywood diva in the basic sense of the word, Dame Elizabeth Taylor
lived her life as she saw fit. Even in death, she continues to be just as fabulous as before, making sure she was fashionable late at her own funeral.

Ladies are supposed to be 15 minutes late at important functions – and Dame
Liz Taylor was a lady by all counts.

At her funeral, which was held on Thursday, she made sure guests
were kept waiting for the traditional 15 minutes, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
magazine reports.

The actress, it would seem, gave precise indications that her body be brought in
later than the appointed hour, but by no more than a quarter of an hour.

“Elizabeth Taylor was laid to rest Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park
in Glendale, Calif., in a small, private funeral attended by friends and family
that began 15 minutes after schedule – under instructions she left,” People writes.

This is confirmed by a spokesperson for the family, who says for the
celebrity magazine that, “She even wanted to be late for her own
funeral.”
“Taylor’s casket was closed and draped with gardenias, violets, and lily of the valley.
She was interred in The Great Mausoleum, the same resting place for her longtime friend Michael Jackson,” People further reports.

The screen icon died this week, at the age of 79. A public memorial service will be
held at a later, yet to be announced date.

“Taylor’s son Michael Wilding, her daughter Liza and her grandson Tarquin Wilding
also read selections, and her grandson Rhys Tivey performed a trumpet solo of ‘Amazing
Grace’,” People says of the funeral service.

Right up to her unexpected death, Taylor remained a fascinating public figure, as
outspoken as always and just as involved in various charitable organizations.

She never missed an opportunity to speak of her involvement in them, in the hope that
she would get others to do the same and thus lend a hand to the cause – just like she
did in one of her last interviews, when she sat down with Kim Kardashian for Harper’s
Bazaar, as we also [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] at the time.
