Both, if the stud can figure out how to use a stud finder.

Pencils are a good one, but how about ball point pens? Hard to fathom that radio and telephones were invented before ball points!

Seriously? lolTater Salad wrote:Pencils are a good one, but how about ball point pens? Hard to fathom that radio and telephones were invented before ball points!
Only problem is many times, pens either get left laying or thrown away when the ink runs out...even though you can by new ink inserts.

They sell grinders now with all kinds of combinations: Sea salt and Pepper, sea salt and garlic, garlic and pepper, Italian seasonings...
One of my favorites is a "peppercorn medley", which has black pepper, green peppercorns, pink peppercorns, white pepper, and coriander.

I get that. lol Still...would rather have a way to do my own that keep buying it all. Hence that mortar and pestle or a grinder made to keep and use again. Less waste for garbage and less spent to have the convenience.Tater Salad wrote:They sell grinders now with all kinds of combinations: Sea salt and Pepper, sea salt and garlic, garlic and pepper, Italian seasonings...

Funny how I just take it for granted everyone knows what squirrels are like and how they act. lollorry p wrote:I have never seen a real live squirrel. They certainly are cute.
I have squirrels in my yard. They love the bird seed I put in bird feeders and they sure can climb! I see them running on fences, on wires for phones and electricity, in trees... I don't see many at a time, but they sure do get around!

Re: What's a nifty gadget to own?
I have seen kangaroos in zoos here, but since neither squirrels and chipmunks are native to OZ, they are probably afraid of the possible consequences if they were to be introduced there, since, like rabbits, I don't think there is a natural predator there to keep them in check.

my thoughts on a nifty gadget...a cup. you can drink out of it, use it to eat out of, use it as a scoop...it can be used in more ways than just a cup.
Is a cup a gadget? lol

Re: What's a nifty gadget to own?
You can even use it as a planter! A cup is a gadget if you say it is.
How about nail clippers? Are they not a lot eisir to us than scissors, for the same purpose? Especially if you are right handed and trying to use scissors with your left hand to clip the nails on your right hand, or visa versa with left handed scissors.

Before she gave it much thought, she just decided that was one place the flies were always unwanted and a big pain in the butt. lol She soon learned it wasn't a great idea!

I once had a bread maker and didn't like it. One loaf at a time and not nearly as big a deal as me making my own. lol For someone who only wants one loaf and really isn't into all the "I made it myself" stuff, it's good. lol

Re: What's a nifty gadget to own?
Melon baller... a bigger one...I use it for home made chicken nuggets. lol
It works great to form the right size of meat for making a nugget. As a melon baller, no use at all. I just cut the melon and watch it disappear. lol
vegetable peeler... quite useful, even for carrot in salad...nice thin amounts.
