Would you consider being part of a community that is off the grid? ( not connecting to water, sewer and electric provided by government and companies)

Yes. We have water bills for the first time in 28 years where we are now, but will be adding tanks before too much longer. Before Winter sets in. We looked into getting solar panels on the roof, but it is just not worth the massive expense and so little return. We have our own septic system so no charges there apart from having it cleaned out every 5 or so years.

Probably not. I don't mind camping for a weekend now and then, but I wouldn't want to live like that permanently.

Tater, lol... many people have wells, sewers and alternate power.. they just don't rely on companies that charge you for it all.

When on the farm.. the only thing we relied upon was the power.. and even then we had candles. The power would often go out and when it did we ate salad straight from the vegie patch and cold meat or cooked on the bbq.

Once upon a time, we had no power for a month. I didn't really miss it. lol They get you to believe you can't live without electricity when you definitely can.

I also remember using snow as a good place to keep foods cold... or just a cooler outside in winter.

I would miss the power in Summer time here. Unless I lived at the beach. lol. No snow here.. except the bit you sent me.. It arrived as water. ha ha ha
