Would you raise a few chickens and cows if you were allowed to where you live...to be more self sufficient?

As you know.. yes.. we had the farm and did all that. I would not do it here on 1 acre. Every inch of this place is flowers trees and vegies. I am over cows and chooks.. lol

I think I would... milk, eggs, butter, CREAM, meat... all without worrying what was done to them and a satisfaction that I did it.

My property is roughly 75 feet by 25 feet. I don't think a cow would be happy here.

Tater, the point being.. I'd have chickens and a cow or two...if it were possible. Some places... cities... allow a few chickens. I don't think this area does.

We did Tater.. We gave it up because I have Cardiomyopathy {heart failure) and the farm became too much for us to keep up with.. my husband was working 3 jobs and trying to keep up with the farm as well. I am not able to run the farm like I used to.. so.. We sold up and now live on 1 acre. Just enjoying life now we have more time together without all the stress. It was a great life for our 4 children but it's just us now.. they are all grown up now, some with their own children. We have more family time all round. Much better. (-:
