Hello Roxanna! I see you are kind of back to "normal". lol
Keeping cool... lawn sprinklers, a swim pool and shade! lol We've had a few hot days, but nothing too bad.. yet!
The garden is doing well! I started everything from seed, in the house. Heirloom seeds! smile2

I have had a little bad luck, but mostly good... especially for a make shift garden!
Summer life, in general... has just begun and we have already learned that so many things are SO much better on the grill compared to oven or stove! We amaze ourselves! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Heirloom seeds ! good for you dance smiley

I haven't been very successful with seeds, yet.the chooks got out 2x and razed the lot ! angry

right now there is very little sun in the back yard,just a small strip along the back fence,(due to tall buildings and fences around a small area) but things are looking not to bad.
will try seeds again soon. sunny

Bad, bad, chickens!!! lol Have you ever started the seeds in the house and later planted outside? I got heirloom seeds at a all natural store... half price, because they were from last year. Those seeds did better than the "supposed" newer ones at different stores!

Your garden gets lots of shade and mine has none! Can we somehow even that out? lol

LOL in summer it's all sun ,could do with a bit of balancing,but mother nature is not compromising !
yes, that's what I did (raise seeds in the house,well ,undercover, anyway),and a couple weeks after planting out the chooks from hell got to ém, TWICE ! by that I mean 2x I nurtured the seeds planted out, watched them thrive...for a while...by then the season was to far gone for vegetable planting. Sad

I have got lettuces ,chives and bock choi coming up ,and the chooks are 100% secure !

Hmmmm.... I can tell you a few things here have been attacked... most likely by rabbits. lol
I have two types of chives, zucchini squash, watermelon, peas and tomatoes... those are doing really well. A couple of pepper plants went into a hanging topsy turvy planter and are doing well. No little critters can attack them! lol

I have been checking... seems you can grow plants inside and still reap the benefits, but the seeds won't be any good (from those plants) to grow the next year?

I'm growing chilies and herbs in topsy turvey planter, they are growing but not very well,small and spindly,I water and fertilise etc...but not real good .
are yours planted from the bottom hole only ? mine are in the sides maybe that makes a difference ?

Nothing in the bottom. Only used holes towards the middle. Used all organic potting soil and that's it. I tend to be a bit of a sloppy (lazy) gardener... soil, water it and let it be. lol I do keep the plants watered, but don't add extra "stuff" to fertilize... just the organic potting soil, which has a lot in it already.
