Have you ever wanted to live in a castle?
Or would you rather the little garden house behind the castle?

Re: Have you ever wanted to live in a castle?
Nope, I always thought castles seemed cold and overdone. Maybe it's the environment I grew up in, but I always wanted a house that made practical, well designed efficient use of space, with a picture window overlooking a spectacular, natural view. Something like a rolling meadow of wildflowers and live oak trees in the foreground, and a majestic green mountain in the background. With a waterfall.

think I probably did; when Mom read me Fairy Tales or when
I watched a movie placed in the middle ages, maybe; Camelot.
(I'm a huge ! Merlin-and-Arthur fan. Mostly Merlin, of course.)
I still think the ones in Scotland and Germany and Normandy
(France) are cool.

These are the walls at Falaise Castle (above and below).
The castle was built by the
Duke of Normandy in the 11th Century.
William the Conqueror was born here in
1027. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Another example of the Norman style of building is The White Tower
of
The Tower of London below.

For living in now, though, I would much! rather live in a palace.
Castles were built as stronghold and fortified.
Palaces are not fortified and were built mostly to show off wealth.
Palaces are a LOT more comfortable., on the whole.
BUT... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I am also a "little-cottage-in-the-woods/guesthouse type.
(I LOVED!! the little cabin in "The Sandpiper" in Big Sur [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] and
would LOVE to own the townhouse in "Goodbye Again". It is BEAUTIFUL!
BUT... I'd also love! Tudor-style home in Beverly Hills...(with a hot-and-cold-running staff, please!)
"We" have our very own "castle" here in Phoenix - on Camelback mountain.
It is famous - (or is it notorious?)

Greg loves it!
Greg is a 5-star, any-castle NUT. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The house I really do want is Elizabeth's [former] home in Bel Air.
It has been sold now; for 8.6 million dollars. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I have always
has a champagne appetite [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
It is a darling, homey home.
PLUS - the garden is absolutely perfect!

Ja'aj... pricey tastes for "homey"! lol
That is just too much, for me!
I think I'd rather have the little cabin or garden house. Not a lot of "show", but a lot of warmth and not so big!

That's why they have horse races, ya know. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Um... isn't it gonna be kinda cramped [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] with
you all in a little cabin or garden house? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I figure if Ms. Taylor could afford the house and
the grounds she (most likely ?) could afford to heat it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(The house only has 3 bedrooms, (1 living room, 1 den,
1 dining room, 1 fabulous! kitchen, etc.) and lots of LAND.
Property ain't cheap in Bel Air. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
What I love! about it (and its "ilk") is... it also ! has 4 or 5
(I forget) bathrooms ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
