We have lots of robins here too, except in the winter. Seeing them around is one of the early signs of spring, along with crocuses popping up out of the ground.

I think I have more snow than anything else yet. No flowers showing, but hearing birds really brightened my day! Funny how little things like that can make a big difference! smile2

It sounds like you have had enough snow and cold. We have millions of birds, I will send you over all I can. It's nice to hear the little birds in the morning.

it must be wonderful to get the first signs of spring ,promising warmer weather , love your pics.
this time of year we get flocks of corelas and galahs , even here in the suburbs, noisy, raucious birds, utterly delightful. not popular with people who have fruit trees, the corellas eat the lot !!the galahs scavenge on the ground .
the white ones are corellas, the pink and grey, galahs. both can be trained to make delightful pets.

GALAHS:tater, thats a lovely picture, they do belong to the parrot family,a childhood friend had one that lived in their back yard, uncaged, used to fly about and always came back.
CORELLAS: compared to their more colouful relatives, they do look a bit ghostly !!.

it must be amazing to see the crocuses poping out of the ground , they look so beautiful, do they have a scent ?

I'm not sure if they have much of a scent or not. It's funny, they seem so tiny and delicate, yet they will pop up even if there is a little snow still on the ground. Looks can be deceiving!

the rainbow lorikeets alo are common in this area, the head is more purple than blue, may be a regonal difference, or the way the photo turned out.they get away with being destructive to fruit trees because they are absolutely stunning !!

Well, we have the Franklin he is here all year, he is a noisy bird, walks more than he flies, looks kind of like a pidgeon, then we have doves, egrets, small green birds that come for winter, cardinals, with red heads, beautiful. I am not very versed on our birds as I am trying to learn the names of all the fish we have here. We don't have birds here like the ones above, but some [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] own parrots Sorry that didn't work.
