Have you seen the movie "Full Metal Jacket"?

If so, what did you think of it? I haven't seen it yet... just wondering what others think of it.

Yes I have, but it's been a long time since I've seen it.
It's a pretty good movie, but if I remember correctly, it is pretty graphic at times.

Like Tater, it has been a while since I watched it.
I remember plenty of graphic violence
(but what else would you expect from a war movie?).
That said, it was one that I really liked. Sometimes,
it's a good thing to remember what awful sacrifices have been made to keep us free. It will give you something to think about. I remember that about it.

It's probably one of the best - of it's kind...
(I HATE movies about 'Nam) It is violent
and definitely not for little ones. (Or me, either)
But... like I say, it's a good film.

I don't appreciate the "realism" - and I REALLY don't
appreciate the fact that that's the garbage that sells these days.
I always understood that when someone got shot and just "fell over"
(in the pics when I was a kid) that it wasn't "real" -
- getting shot! hurts like hell - I don't care how brave someone is.
("just a flesh wound", my ass.)
I see no reason for the graphics... and they can't have my money

yes,outstanding film by kubrick , graphic violence is not for faint hearted and never good for youngsters to see,however,it did reflect what some consripts may have endured during the conflict,id say most probably saw induction and military similarly.good film!!

I haven't had the chance to see it yet. From what I have been told so far, it is one I would definitely not want to watch with little people around. So... sometime, in the near future, I will watch it.

Well... I would seriously not recommend it to anyone

While it is very well done - give it's content... it isn't a fun movie.
(Besides, I think Kubrick is confused, confusing, murky and a loon.)
Apart from that I really don't care for his "art".
I fail to see his "genius".
In anything; ever. At least I can "follow" Peckinpah, who's work I
hate loathe and despise.
Sam himself was pretty cool; his work is ugly, violent and -
