YES! I most definitely have! I am using a different one while waiting for mine to be eradicated of viruses and what not! It seems I downloaded something that was really awful. Sad Mine is getting a clean slate to start over... many things lost.

Don't know what that means. Only know I did what I tell everyone NOT to do....I downloaded something I didn't check or verify to be an actual thing or what I needed for a GADGET I bought! lol
Well, computer is on the mend with a whole lot of new beginnings.

Ransom ware is a message that says you have viruses that can only be gotten rid of if you pay a certain company a certain amount of money so they can fix your computer, when, in actuality, the only thing your computer is infected with is the message that says your computer is infected...

Not quite. all that would happen was a big box saying it was time to enter the product key and things just went really wacky with it. Malwarebytes kept adding more and more to quarantine, but more kept popping up.

It is horrible when your computer crashes and you lose so many memories.. I swore last time it happened that I would back up all my photos... Well. I have done most of them.

One thing I think about is why I depend on my computer to save everything...and have decided to start printing out some pictures and saving the rest on a card I can put away.
Luckily, most of my pictures were able to be saved.

Well, a lesson learned about computers... internet doesn't always have just the good and usable things. Don't download anything without knowing for sure it's an okay source it's coming from!

When in doubt, don't do it! There are sites most anyone would know are okay...like cnet. I am going to try to stick to sites and well known places for downloads of needed things.

Now...SOMEONE gave me a trial version of an antivirus and I am wondering WHY!

I just use Windows Defender, by Microsoft. It's free, they never bug you to upgrade, and it works great; I never had a problem with any kind of viruses, malware, or adware.
