Re: Questions Only
Well... I was a bit worried..how you'd roll them and light them up, but I see you might mean something entirely different!
This coming summer... going to try doing just that with fish and such on my grill/ smoker.
It seems we both quit smoking around the same time.

Re: Questions Only
Don't you at least notice that you don't get winded nearly as much or as quickly when doing something strenuous? Like climbing multiple flights of stairs or walking uphill? Fewer and milder coughs and colds?

Re: Questions Only
Hmmm... I have other issues... multiple flights of stairs isn't really a thing here....
I don't know... I'm not dying, but I don't work the way I use to... maybe I need new batteries.... or something.

Re: Questions Only
There's a very scientific term for that sort of thing. Its called "getting older".

Oops, did we both start forgetting to ask questions again? Did you know that forgetfulness is another sign of aging?

What is aging? Isn't it all just numbers? Aren't you only as old as you feel?...

I've never smoked! I just couldn't see the appeal under the hype. As far as smoking is concerned the best I can see is kippers, and they have far too many bones for me to enjoy?

Re: Questions Only
I don't think I've ever had kippers (at least not for breakfast, like in the Supertramp song); are they anything like sardines?

Re: Questions Only
Sardines are full of bones, but since sardines are very small (a couple of inches), they are very small bones, and quite edible. I prefer canned mackerel, which are filleted, and boneless too!
P.s. I only added the last part as a joke, since several of our local supermarkets have taken to advertising fish as being "boneless fillets" lately, as if there are any fillets that contain bones...

Why do we have to clean the fish? They're in the water all the time; how dirty can they possibly be?

Yes I can. Square, deep, and wet. The fish are all asleep in the bottom at the moment, they don't like the rain. Does that give you some idea?

Re: Questions Only
Cleaning the fish.. Have you ever caught a fish.. an edible one that is? Not a goldfish!!!
You have to "clean" the fish of it's scales and gut it. I prefer to catch fish from the shop myself. I also hate touching worms.. so no fishing for me unless someone puts the worm on the hook.

Lorry, why would anybody think you were a fish, or that you lived in a bathroom?
P, do you mean you only have one bathroom, or one scale? And isn't a bidet a special piece of equipment that washes the, uh, special pieces of equipment?

Re: Questions Only
One set of scales on which to weigh myself (Oh how I hate those scales !!!!).
Your right about the special piece of equipment, as I said, half a bath. I leave it there for everyone to draw their own conclusions. Needless to say anything invented by the French, as far as the English are concerned, has to be suspect (REMEMBER AGINCOURT!).
Talk about stealing a march, I was driving through London one day when a plumbers van pulled up alongside. The numberplate B 1 DET. Nice one! I did wonder, hovever, if he was Polish but it was a very English sense of humour.

Re: Questions Only
I admit I've taken soap, shampoo, and tissues (I mean, we are talking about tiny little one-use cakes of soap and bottles), but most of the towels I've seen at hotels aren't worth taking, and if they are worth taking, don't you feel a little guilty about it?

Those little soaps and shampoos come in handy when you go some place where there may not be ready access to them. Don't you think they'd be ideal for camping, for example?

Re: Questions Only
The way I view it is they are complimentary and included in the price. Its only thrown away afterwards and I consider it an efficient method of recycling. Hotels are wising up to this though and screwing refillable dispensers on the wall. Even so we rarely need to buy soap. Shampoo seems not to last so long but dont blame me!!!!
It's the same with meals. Doggy bags don't exist over here but I can eat quite a lot when it's self service, and I always ask for honey when it isn't . Now you see why I put on so much weight when we're away. It's surprising how long that extra weight lasts when we get back!

I never liked those tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner! Biggest pains in the butt! A friend gave me a huge bag full of them once and I found it to be a real hassle.Tater Salad wrote:Those little soaps and shampoos come in handy when you go some place where there may not be ready access to them.
