Lorry, is it true that you don't have Burger King there, but you have Hungry Jacks, due to someone already having a trademark on the name?

We do have Hungry Jacks but no Burger King.. I didn't know that that was the reason why we don't... but I don't really care.. Not into fast food and feel we have more than enough already. Do you have Fish and Chip shops solely dedicated to fish and chips? We never hear or see them mentioned like we hear that you have burger shops or steak houses.

Yep, Hungry Jacks is exactly the same as Burger King, except for the name...
We do have "fish and chip" shops here, but they have never been quite as popular as burger joints.
A couple that come to mind are Long John Silvers and Arthur Treachers. The latter is almost extinct, unfortunately, as I always thought they had better quality food.

There are many fish and chip shops that well and truly outnumber Macca's and Hungry Jack's and KFC for that matter here. We very occasionally get fish and chips, but the rest are OFF the menu for us..... Lot's of Taters get used at the fish and chip shops.. that is where your real threat is from in Australia. It's best you never visit Tater.. lol

Breezey, Hungry Jacks is what they call Burger King in Australia, due to the fact that someone there was already using the Burger King name there. Other than the name Hungry Jacks, everything else is exactly the same as Burger King.

Cause you can't use the same name as another company. Hence Hungry Jacks instead of Burger King. It's all crap at any rate.. Home cooked is best.
