Where you prefer to watch movies....

And why....?

When watching movies at home, I can pause when I need to, bring my own snacks for a lot cheaper, feel free to talk and be comfortable and I don't have to wear shoes!

On a rare occasion, I enjoy watching a really good movie at a theater, but most of the time I prefer watching at home, where I get to decide when the movie starts, control the volume level, sit in my own comfy chair, and rewind if I missed something, as well as the reasons Breezy already mentioned.

Plus, there are no little brats kicking the back of my seat or spilling soda on the floor,, and there are no big heads or hats blocking my view!

At home I'm not surrounded by a myriad of glowing phone screens, people talking, eating, walking about, and messing around. I'm not getting my eardrums perforated by a deafening soundtrack, or loads of adverts and trailers. At the end I'm not fighting in the rush to get out before the national anthem is played.

P, they play the national anthem at the end of movies there?

They always used to but I havent been in ages, I'm far more comfortable at home. I never stayed to find out anyway! How disrespectful!

Never saw that here. Years ago, they used to play our national anthem at the end of the broadcast night on television (at least at some stations; not sure if they all did it), but very few if any stations aren't broadcasting 24 hours a day now. Which is good, because otherwise there wouldn't be enough time in a day to show all the infomercials.

You've hit on one problem with home view. Dear old BBC haven't realised they aren't doing themselves any favours by "competing" with the commercial stations with infuriating and unnecessary extended infomercials. Make it pay for view and save me the licence fee!

At least with a dvd I used to be able to skip the trailers, now my "improved" player connects itself to the internet and I get 15minutes of the latest releases! "Sadly" my dvd collection is much depleated by my children who "borrow" anything of merit on a long term basis. It's reached the stage that I couldn't handle getting it all back. At least it saves me having to make a will to decide who gets which dvd!

Hmmm... I didn't give it much thought... I don't watch movies on television channels... only DVD or VHS. I choose what I want to see and when... I really can't deal with the national anthem or infomercials! lol
