How did you first get interested in a sport?
Were your parents into any sports? Did you get items for gifts that were sports related? Did your friends like sports?

Was never ,ever interested in sport, It's great for those who play it,and those who follow ,but I am not one of them.
Some of my family liked football,or soccer[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] they call it here,but personally I don't care a rats ar$e !posibly my lack of interest may be due to the fact I don't care who wins !
so what about you Breezey ?

Re: How did you first get interested in a sport?
I played football and baseball... only as family fun. Never really got into watching sports on television or going to games in the area. But... since there was no father in the picture, that might have had some bearing on it?
In school, we were forced to play some and I hated how competitive everyone was. It lost the fun value.

Re: How did you first get interested in a sport?
My Mom sent me to Ballet lessons... I became interested in Tap and Acrobatics.
(That'll larn 'er... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ) SO... we made a deal - I'd stick with the ballet *yawn* in
return for the acrobatics. The tap was fun. The Ballet was DULL... - IMO.
Also, FYI... ballet is difficult and HARD WORK.
(Just because people think you LOOK like a ballet dancer don't make you one.)
I LOVED the acrobatics! And turns out - I was really good at it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
My Dad was an Olympic diver until his accident. (Some fool swam under
the diving boards just as hie dived off the high dive. Baaaad for his back.)
End of Olympic competition.
My Mom ice skated and The Brother was a discus and javelin thrower.
The Brother still coaches "Special Olympics" (2 are deaf... 2 are blind;
they're discus and javelin throwers) He also taught at A.S.D.B. -
(The Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind) in Tucson ( regular scholastics)
and he met his (former) wife there; Carolyn coaches Basketball.
(THAT'll teach you to ask, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.])
P.S.
John (The Brother) is ALSO *sigh* a gifted trumpet player.
Plus... he walks on water to improve his balance,
P.P.S.
I think (?) the only sports-related gifts I ever got were roller skates
and ice skates.

Re: How did you first get interested in a sport?
Sport had/has no interest for me at all, I only did what I had to in school,reluctantly!
Good for you and your family Jaáj,you/they are the kind of people I admire,sharing their talents, not just cashing in.
I think it's great that some talented people put in the effort and sacrifice to excel,and deserve every thing they get.They are good role models (mostly) and something for young people to look up to.It just isn't my thing !

Hi, Roxanna !
It isn't my thing either and I got out as soon
as I got the nerve. I'm glad the parents had John;
he was every thing they wanted. and he seemed to enjoy it.
