Re: Edible weeds
What do YOU consider a weed? lol
What might be a weed to some, may be something I don't think is a weed.. especially if it has benefits.

Re: Edible weeds
generally things that grow on the roadsides and stuff you pull out of your garden is considered to be weeds. Some of them are packed with nutrients, I'm planning to find out about them and feed the chooks and myself with em.

Re: Edible weeds
Interesting links here!

In this link, you click on the picture you want information about. Your Herb Robert is in the list.
Many of the plants listed in these links... tons of them grow around here, but I don't know anyone who actually uses them.
When I was a child, my mom always sent us to pick caraway seeds. We found that growing along side the road, not too far from our house. Rhubarb was another one. In my teens, I picked wild blackberries, strawberries and raspberries. Mushrooms grew wild in a field and someone showed me which ones to pick.
I know someone who makes dandelion wine. lol

I don't know much about bush tucker,it is only in recent years that it's being promoted, some has been made into jams, pickles and other goods.
if you click on any picture in that link it will take you to the web site and explanation.

Re: Edible weeds
The bush tucker is very healthy, when indiginous people come to the towns and eat junk food many of them get diabetis, as soon as they go back to the bush and eat traditional, the diabetis is gone.
