Re: What does "Going Galt" mean...
Would you also like me to explain the meaning of Life? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Uh... John Galt is the central character in Ayn Rand's
"Atlas Shrugged" (I do not like [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Ayn Rand nor her books)
I didn't read it very carefully and it was at least 100 years ago.
Ichecked the Urban Dictionary :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
and they say the expression means:
"To follow the example of the character John Galt
in the book "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.
A person who goes Galt is a
productive member of society who decides to reduce his or her
productivity in order to thwart the efforts of unproductive people to
take the fruits of his or her labor.
"I can't get ahead. My taxes go up every year."
(My opinion: Cowards do that. Real people stay! and change their country
to the way it was" / they want it to be)
None of which can mean very much I'm afraid -
Not until you've read "Atlas Shrugged" and "know" John Galt. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(Think: "Going back to the Wilderness! and live off the land!" or
" and be a rebel!" or some such ... only with disdainful arrogance (IMO)

I saw that ... and sucessfully resited it.
Whaddya thunk? Should I attempt it?
