LOL Breezey, as far as I can remember, it starts at conception ,or, when you find out you're about to be a parent, preparing for the little ones entry in to the family.
not sure when it starts for the dads, some times at the begining,sometimes never.

It's funny how people see this differently. Some believe the women aren't parents until the child is born and the man is a father right away. I suppose that might have something to do with child support... but many men don't pay that or bother with their children either.
For me, being a parent started when that child was conceived. I had to think about the child and what was best.. eating habits and all that good stuff! But.. the bonding, that was the main thing that made me a parent from the start.

I think it starts when you find out you are going to be a parent,after a pregnacy test. Hard to tell if it was conceived at the time of action(so to say) Can't just say Oh Wow We just made a baby!

I think (responsible mature) women become parents when a
child is conceived.
I think they become active about it when they learn of
their pregnancy.
I agree with you; there are a lot of pro-active and preventative
steps to be taken during pregnancy. Parents are responsible to
and for the welfare of their child.
With the father I think it depends of the man. Some men are parents
long before they have fathered a child and some men never will be.

To me being a parent is a whole different thing.
Some men are parents without being the father in the biological sense.
