Watching a topic

I had been wondering why I haven't been getting notices for new replies to questions I've responded to lately, and just now I noticed that unlike in the past, when we would automatically get notices unless we opted out of that option, we now have to manually check the box marked "Notify me when a reply is posted" when we reply to a post, or on "watch this topic" after we post.

Has anyone else noticed this, or has something in my preferences changed without me realizing it?

Not sure... I haven't noticed any changes.. just that I don't know there is a new topic, unless I come here and check or see it in the email updates. I will take a look at your preferences and see if anything is stopping the notices.

Okay...
Always notify me of response or replies.. something like that. Yours has "no". I tried to change that and am not sure if I was successful because password didn't match? lol You might want to take a run through and see if anything or everything is the way you want it?

I had that set for yes, but couldn't find it today to check. Where can I find it? I didn't see it under profile...

Okay, I found it. I don't know how it changed, as I always had it set on yes to show replies on topics I started or replied on, but I fixed it now, so I should be good to go.

In your profile, choose "preference". It's in there. Do ya think we might hear from you a little more often with that changed? lol

Thank you, I did find it just after I posted, and yes, it is a lot easier to keep up with replies when that option is checked, at least for me.

One other thing that might help: Could you make the list for latest topics on this page a bit longer, like it used to be? If not as long as it was, then at least a little longer than it is now?

Hmmm... I think latest topics changes each day.. depending on what is posted?

Yes it does change, but it used to show at least the last 10 or 12 topics posted or commented on, instead of only 6 like it shows now.

Tater, are you talking about the widget in the sidebar? If so, that can be changed, but nobody really seemed to be using it.

I don't know if it's a widget or not, but it's on the top left of this page, directly under the "Welcome" in large blue letters. It's all I usually use to see the latest comments while I'm on the site, besides the daily update and new reply emails I get sent to me.

so I'm not much help, huh?
The "personal" options could b a clue, maybe?

I did find it after I posted the topic, Ja'aj, but thanks anyway! Are you ready for baseball? Pitchers and catchers open spring training camp tomorrow, and the regular season starts in 6 weeks! YAY!!!!

Ja'aj, I think they're looking pretty damn good. While some are concerned about losing Jason Werth (the dang fool signed with the perennial last place Nationals for the big money), the fact that they now have four aces more than makes up for that in my mind.
I do believe Ron would be proud!
