Schott's Vocab
By BEN SCHOTT

"Chai Na"
A Chinese term - "what to demolish" or "tear that down" - which plays on the word "China" and reflects a trend in the country for demolishing old buildings.

And now you know. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Bree,
Yup. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Rox,
I imagine so; it's a regular "column" in the NY Times.
I guess I could actually READ some of 'em... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

That one was brief and unusual, I thought.
New words don't seem to happen a lot -
although with the advent of the personal computer,
there are a BUNCH of (realtively, now)"new" ones.

"Translation: Afrikaans » English ShenZhen"

That ^ doesn't help very much, does it?

Oooh yoo-hoo, Eink... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Does ShenZhen mean "change again" or...
WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Hmm?
