I generally go by the rule, if you're hungry, eat. If you're not, don't try to force it.

breezey, i was like that, irresistably craving sweet sugary things,and lots of it, bread, pickled things ..etc... all the things ok in small amounts ,i had in huge amounts, constantly. i also had a number of other symptoms.
naturopath did hair analisis and dicovered i had imballance in gut bacteria ,candida.this was in late january, he recomended 'pau dárco' antifungal tree bark, and a couple other things to restore the ballance. as of 3 days ago ,the baddies are gone ,and i need more of the goodies .there are other benefits also, lost weight, feel better and more motivated ,getting more energetic.all i did was eat NOTHING with sugar ,yeast, fermented thigs,eg vinegar ,that means no sauces or salad dressings ,..bla bla bla ... read ALL labels carefully.it was not hard to do and i am gaining the bennefits ,all round better health !!
there is a reason for irresistable cravings, some good, some not , best to find out , because left to long other things are affected as well.
so, go to a good naturopath for a check up, the doctors i saw with my symptoms just wanted to give me antidepressants.

no-medical-degree diagnosis... (and I am not)
THAT wouldn't have even made my "guess list"!

I think I'm gonna live! I am done with the candy and now onto chicken wings and mashed potatoes! lol I LOVE chicken wings... and mashed potatoes!

Roxanna, it never hurts to eat healthier, even if it's not a medical need. The only problem with that is the cost of all the healthier foods. I have to kind of pick and choose what I can afford and think I need more.

breezey, i think it is possible to eat healthier without breaking the bank,the most expensive items are the ones we can do without ,or at least cut down on eg, ice cream, cake,snacks , etc from the supermarket, shop so what is saved there can be spent on other alternatives.apples,pears,bananas etc are a great snack and cheaper than packets of something made up .this ofcourse is easier to do if there are no kids clamouring for the above mentioned no nos !! rollonfloor
