Genetically Engineered Crops May Produce Herbicide Inside Our Intestines

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The research was conducted in the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana, where corn fields are abundant. Scientists found the bacterial protein washed off the corn and directly into the streams. While they won’t say for certain what this means for human health, the consensus is that it can’t be good.

In 2009, more than 85% of American corn crops were genetically modified, but that number has likely increased since that time. All the while, other countries in Europe don’t even allow the GMO corn or at the very minimum label food sources that contain GMO ingredients. No similar protections are provided in the United States.

A new study published in the International Journal of Biological Sciences ends the debate regarding the health effects of genetically modified food (GMO). With their findings almost as shocking as the fact that genetically modified food was ever allowed on the shelf, the study is gaining some intense coverage even in the mainstream media, specifically regarding gm corn varieties.

GM foods been shown time and time again to not only cause bodily and environment harm, but also be ineffective at saving the world from mass starvation. The primarily known supplier and creator of GM seeds, foods, and crops is a biotechnology company known as Monsanto. For decades, Monsanto has been creating genetically modified seeds which are forced on many farmers. Some of the crops, such as GM corn, grown from the GM seeds are created to kill insects to make for easier farming, but the result has been the creation of resistant superweeds and superbugs, and subsequently increased pesticide use – leading to further human and environmental harm.

“For the first time in the world, we’ve proven that GMO are neither sufficiently healthy nor proper to be commercialized. [...] Each time, for all three GMOs, the kidneys and liver, which are the main organs that react to a chemical food poisoning, had problems,” indicated Gilles-Eric Séralini, an expert member of the Commission for Biotechnology Reevaluation, created by the EU in 2008.

Meanwhile the research highlights the numerous benefits of alternative and sustainable forms of organic farming. The study concludes that:

Alternative organic, sustainable methods of farming provide a realistic alternative, independent of reliance on agrobiotech corporations.

Of course organic and sustainable farming practices do not require endless amounts of genetic modification, heavy pesticide use, and the negative health effects that go along with it all. It seems that when Monsanto isn’t involved, farming becomes much simpler, healthy, and environmentally friendly.

yep that's about it ! and apparently organic farmers were charged for using their seeds when they blew over into their farms !!
So the whole world knows, what are we going to do about it ? has it gone to far? is it to late ? WHO cares? don\'t know

Well... thinking it's going to take a lot of people working together to set the wrongs right... all the crappy wrongs people seem to just "take" and put up with.
