Are any of your local businesses suffering...

Due to the internet and it's many uses?
Here, a well known book store is closing it's doors. I guess it can't compete with ebooks and such?
It's sad to see how so many things are being lost due to internet. I love to read books and will miss that store.
I won't be reading any books off the internet or an ebook.. whatever that is. It's just not the same!

I'm not sure; not that I know of... which may not

I don't know of any local book stores put out of business because of the internet or e-readers, but I believe several mom and pop's have had a difficult time competing with Borders and Barnes and Noble, unless they can develop a niche such as antiques and classics, or otherwise specialize in a certain field.

Hmmm... I guess for each business, there is another to compete to try to stay afloat.
I am troubled by all this internet crap. Stores... book stores, music stores, etc... they are not going to be able to compete with internet where many get things for free.

I think whatever is available on-line for free
will set up a need/demand for something tangible ?
Something that cant be "air-waved", maybe?
I think most will adapt. I hope.
