HER HANDS

HER HANDS

Like scented candles,
Her fingers
Utterly seize
My artist’s eyes.
Like gear teeth
That perfectly fit
In the gaps of my own
Bending like chorus dancers
Bowing to a throne.

My fingers
Fiddle with them
Like chaotic birds
Searching for a nest.
And hers,
As though soft branches
On their spread;
Anxious as they verge --
Hikers on my chest.

In her hands
My dreams she cups
Like precious golden sands.
I lace my lips around her fingers
With venerated prayer
To exorcise this quiet fear
That vexes so my heart;
Like dust that begs…
Let not her fingers part.

Wow! This definitely says a lot about a loved one's touch! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

*lol* Thanks, Breez! Aren't hands very *special*? They can 'talk' more than lips do.

I always said that. When asked which sense I would not want to loose, I always chose touch. Hands... touch... can convey and learn so much and it can all be committed to memory.

Yep! I so agree to that. They leave prints and scent and wamth to those they touch...

Hmmm... I guess the learning appreciating and committing to memory is for both, then. I never thought it through that far, yet... I should have.
