How does one know what his/her share is?

Post by Breezey Breezey on Tue Oct 28, 2014 10:36 am

So... one person defines charity as not taking more than your share.... What IS your share and who decided that? What if your share is way more than others? Is this share thing still not a society based thing? Heck! Even the government knows all about their share, my share and so forth....

I never heard that definition of charity, and I have to say that to me, it doesn't make sense. Charity is about giving, not taking.

I believe it's supposed to mean not to take more than you deserve or have coming and not to be selfish or greedy... but it really isn't helping anyone... just a crappy way of saying "I didn't take what I didn't have coming and if that doesn't give you what you need... oh well!"

I would define it as take what you need, unless someone elses need is greater, which always seems to be the case.
