Where is the BEEF
In a beef bouillon cube or granules? I'm not seeing it! Or finding it!

Re: Where is the BEEF
Me thinks, problem child, that we are brain washed into believing that is what we are tasting when in fact... it's not. lol There is nothing in the ingredients to even suggest there is beef anywhere in the product... only the name gives us that idea.
And... I HAVE tasted it.. brat! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Where is the BEEF
and how about chicken cubes? if you weren't told it was chicken, you'd never guess ,but I must admit I do use those products as additional flavouring ,I like salty.
The one I use is Massel brand stock powder, chicken style, all vegetable.
*no animal content,
*no added msg,
*trans fat ,gluten, lactose and cholesterol free .
it also comes in beef and vegetable flavours.

Re: Where is the BEEF
Alright... now that we are this far, WHY are we paying extra for spices we could add ourselves? Those bouillon cubes aren't anything out of the ordinary, many are even bad for health reasons because of all the salt and whatever else.

Re: Where is the BEEF
It's never quite the same Breezey,I do use fresh herbs as well, but sometimes that powder just does the trick .
Also it makes a nice occasional alternative to coffee on a cold day .The trick is to not over use, like vegemite !

Re: Where is the BEEF
the brand I use,''Massel'' contains:
Marine salt
Corn maltodextrin (not sure what that is)
refined white sugar
yeast extract
natural vegetable flavours
dehydrated vegetables (onions)
extra virgin olive oil
ground tumeric
chilli.
so it is very much processed, but all in all, used in small amounts now and then,I think it's harmless.
I think the more common brands have more chemicals, but I don't have any on hand to check.
