Re: Is a pancake really...
Nope. I think it's mostly a matter of time, for someone who has to cook their own breakfast before they go to work for 8 or 10 hours, and then clean up the mess left over.

Re: Is a pancake really...
I was wondering since they seem to make special pans to make perfect pancakes. Really, why?

Re: Is a pancake really...
Well, I'm not sure how it could be the "perfect pancake" maker if it can only make one at a time...especially for larger families. We never made pancakes that big.

It is just my opinion, of course... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]...
BUT...
I think that pan is for crepes..
(yeah-yeah [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .... crepe is French for 'pancake'[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.])
- but not really - and a crepe is difficult to make. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(- especially for those of us who don't speak French.)
Also... for the gadget-minded ... that silly pan will surely
become a must-have and the manufacturer has gotta make a living... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And.. your "reasoning" for that pan makes sense... at the end. lol
Tater... I can't see how a pancake is that hard to make. Tithe even makes Mickey mouse ones here. lol

I think probably "lazy" people are responsible for most labor-saving devices.

Re: Is a pancake really...
Roxanna, it's "convenience"! People love ready made things that they don't have to fuss around with.
I still make home made. I really don't like mixes ready made. They just don't taste quite the same.

Re: Is a pancake really...
My mother made the best pancakes ever, I don't know what she did ,but they were fantastic, maybe partly because she cooked them in fat.
always we had cottage cheese filling,it contained sugar vanilla and egg yolks ,that's never the same either.
