Do we ever truly see our grown up children as adults?
There are so many little characteristics that never change ,it seems to me they are still the same little kids in a bigger body.

I don't think my mom does, at least not in my personal experience....
I mean, I'm 50 years old now (I know, it's even hard for ME to believe!), and yet, I'm still told I shouldn't stay up after midnight, (even though I often work second shift),
and she also expects me not to be out late, and let her know where I'm going/where I've been/what I'll be doing, etc...

Ha! I expect the same from anyone living in my home. lol You live here, tell me where you'll be... in case I need to get ahold of you. You want to be out late... I have rules... no coming in drunk, noisy, etc...
You want to stay up late...don't expect to sleep all day! lol
Work would be different, of course.
Nope... it's never easy to remember your child is an adult, totally... especially if they are still home with you. lol

LOL I try to remember my son is a man ! not my (little kid)he will probably be staying here for a while till he's organised. He left a teenager (more or less)and 20+ years later came back a man , he turned into a great handy man, and has done numerous jobs for me ,the garden could not have happened this good without his help, he is also a brilliant cook ! but i can see a lot of familiar little ways about him that won't ever change .
ps we kept in touch via phone and mail ,and the occasional visit, but not actually live together more than a couple days, maybe a week, on holiday.
LOL when all is said and done , he's still my kid !
