Do you think oranges get sweeter when kept a little longer?
Kind of like bananas being better when more ripe?

Re: Do you think oranges get sweeter when kept a little longer?
I'm not sure about sweeter, just know they tend to get dryer as they age, so I always try to eat them while they are fresh. Bananas continue to ripen as they age, as long as they are at room temperature, but I don't think oranges continue to ripen once they are picked.

Hmmm... a few here seem to like them better when they've been around a while. lol

I know they do... we have an orange tree -
and if we pick some and they're not ripe enough
(everybody's a critic) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] - we let them sit around
on the counter in their basket and they will ripen.
They will ripen either way but if they sit with friends
they will do so faster.

I dunno what the official info is...
but here they do ripen and the do get sweeter.
Tater is right - if left around too long they will
dry out too.

Uh... WATERING the damned TREE is important too... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I have gotten so stingy! about the price of water... our oranges
weren't very "juicy" there for a minute... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I kinda like oranges, lemons, limes (NOT grapefruit though) etc.
when they get kinda "crunchy". What? I do.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Multiple personalities... wish I'd known sooner. Should we be afraid?
Rabbit, when do you like oranges the best... when first picked or after sitting a few days?

"Afraid" ... nahhh ... I don't bite.
Fresh oranges are great - love that clean, fresh citrus smell. Of course, sweet is good, too. I'm not too picky (least not about oranges.)
