Should feeding the homeless be so hard?
City puts a stop to homeless outreach
Couple must have proper permit to continue feeding dozens each day

Anyone serving food
for public consumption, whether for the homeless or for sale, must have a
permit, said Kathy Barton, a spokeswoman for the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Department. To get that permit, the food must be prepared in a certified kitchen with a certified food manager.
The regulations are
all the more essential in the case of the homeless, Barton said, because
"poor people are the most vulnerable to foodborne illness and also are
the least likely to have access to health care."http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7381016.html

So... it's better to let homeless people go hungry because they don't have health care?! Who thinks up this stupid crap?!

Re: Should feeding the homeless be so hard?
since it's not for sale ,i don't see a single reason those good hearted people should not continue donating their time and food for those who really need it . so how many people have had health problems directly related to this food ? starving is not exactly good for ones health either.

What's even more unhealthy..... many hungry and homeless people admit they dig in trash cans...How can THAT be better than someone feeding them?
