have you seen avatar ?
if so what do you think ?
i found it was the same ole story of good and evil, environmental message ,heros and villains ,love and romance ,boy gets girl, boy loses girl ,boy gets girl back.
typical fairy tale in space age setting .
don't go for the plot .
but do go for the special effects, the sheer beauty of the movie. 3 hours of escapism , which is the reason for going to the cinema.
BUT, do not wait to see it on dvd, it will completely lose the magic, it needs to be seen in 3D on a large screen ,in a cinema ,to be effective .
ENJOY !!

Hi, Rox! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Yes, I've seen it - I can imagine what you mean about "see in in a theater"
- I've seen it on DVD (we have friends in low places that provide
still-in-theater; first-run movies ) -bless their hearts- and it was visually amazing!
Very very beautiful to look at and it sets a new bar for computer technology
in film.
I also agree with "don't go for the plot" - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] especially, I think,
if you're over age 30 ... it is the same ol' same ol' and it's been done
much! better.
But, BOY! is it fun to look at! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Bree, I can't wait for you guys to see it...! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: have you seen avatar ?
Rox,
Yup -they do come in handy. God love 'em. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Yes. It will be very interesting to see what they do with the "new".
(Lucas especially) - he and his "Industrial Light And Magic" crew
(I LOVE! that name!) will no-doubt take it apart piece by piece; out
of pure curiosity if nothing else.
The other filmmakers may never use it -they might not even be able to use it-
(for all I know it has a patent or copyright or whatever) ?
Besides, copycatting it will be up to the filmmakers of "Avatar"
to beat to death with repetition. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.], and every other filmmaker who
thinks there is mileage to be made form it.

Re: have you seen avatar ?
Haven't seen it ... yet. (Bunny doesn't "get off the ranch", very often. HA!) Looks interesting though. Must look great on the big screen. Probably has more impact than on the TV screen. Amazing, what can be done with computers these days. In our younger days, we could have never imagined what we are seeing now. I need some of those "friends in low places!" LOL
Yep ... you guessed it ... time to do the bunny dance ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
